Open calculatorAbout the SIP Calculator
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) invests a fixed amount every month. This calculator assumes each instalment is invested at the start of the month and grows at the annual return you enter, compounded monthly. The result is an illustration only: returns on market-linked investments vary and are not guaranteed.
How is the SIP maturity value calculated?
We add up the growth of every monthly instalment. Each instalment grows at the monthly rate (the annual return divided by 12) from the month it is invested until the end of the period.
What return should I assume?
Use a cautious figure. Equity funds can swing widely from year to year, so many people try a few rates, such as 8%, 10% and 12%, to see a range instead of one number.
About the Step-Up SIP Calculator
A step-up SIP increases your monthly instalment by a fixed percentage once a year, in line with your growing income. This calculator keeps the instalment steady for 12 months, then raises it by the step-up you enter, and grows every instalment at the annual return you assume.
Why use a step-up SIP?
Your income usually grows over time, so raising your SIP each year lets you invest more without a big jump at once. Even a modest 5% to 10% yearly step-up can add meaningfully to the final value over a long period.
Is the step-up applied monthly or yearly?
Yearly. The instalment stays the same for 12 months, then rises by the step-up percentage for the next 12 months.
About the Lumpsum Calculator
A lumpsum investment is a single amount invested at once. This calculator grows it at the annual return you enter, compounded yearly, and shows the estimated value at the end of your chosen period. The result is an illustration, not a guarantee.
Lumpsum or SIP: which is better?
It depends on when your money is available and how comfortable you are with market ups and downs. A lumpsum puts all your money to work at once, while a SIP spreads your purchases over time, which can smooth your entry price. Many investors use both.
Is the return compounded yearly?
Yes. The calculator applies the annual return once a year to the full balance, including earlier growth.
About the SWP Calculator
A Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) lets you withdraw a fixed amount every month from an investment while the rest stays invested. This calculator withdraws at the start of each month and grows the remaining balance at the annual return you enter. If the withdrawals are larger than the growth, the corpus shrinks and can run out.
How long will my corpus last?
It depends on the withdrawal, the return and the time period. If you withdraw more than the investment earns, the balance falls. The calculator shows what is left after your chosen period, or the month the corpus runs out.
Is SWP income guaranteed?
No. The balance depends on market returns. A higher withdrawal or a lower return can exhaust the corpus sooner than planned.
About the FD Calculator
A fixed deposit pays interest at a rate set by the bank. This calculator compounds the interest at the frequency you choose, with quarterly compounding being common, and shows the maturity amount and total interest. Actual payouts depend on the bank and the deposit scheme.
How is FD interest compounded?
Many banks compound FD interest quarterly, but it varies by bank and scheme. More frequent compounding gives a slightly higher maturity amount.
Is FD interest taxable?
Interest on fixed deposits is generally taxable as per your income tax slab, and banks may deduct TDS above certain limits. Check the current rules or ask a tax professional.
About the CAGR Calculator
Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) is the steady yearly rate at which an investment would have to grow to go from its starting value to its ending value over a period. It smooths out the ups and downs, which makes different investments easier to compare.
What does CAGR tell me?
CAGR shows the average yearly growth rate that would turn your starting amount into the ending amount, assuming the growth compounded evenly. Real year-to-year returns are usually uneven.
Can I use CAGR for SIP returns?
CAGR suits a single investment made once. For SIPs, where money goes in at different times, XIRR is the more suitable measure.
About the EMI Calculator
EMI is the fixed amount you pay every month to repay a loan with interest. This calculator uses the standard reducing-balance formula: EMI = P x r x (1 + r)^n / ((1 + r)^n - 1), where P is the loan amount, r is the monthly interest rate and n is the number of months. Fees, insurance and rate changes are not included.
Does a longer tenure reduce my EMI?
Yes. A longer tenure lowers the EMI but increases the total interest you pay. A shorter tenure does the opposite.
Does this include processing fees?
No. Processing fees, insurance and other charges are not included, and floating interest rates can change over the loan period. Ask your lender for the full cost.
About the Dream Education Calculator
This calculator estimates what an education goal could cost in the future after inflation, and how much you would need to invest, as a lumpsum today or as a monthly SIP, to reach it. Any savings you have already set aside are counted towards the goal.
What inflation should I assume for education costs?
Education costs have often risen faster than general prices. We start with 8% a year, but you can change it to suit the course and country you have in mind.
Why is my SIP amount so high?
A short time horizon or a large future cost raises the monthly amount. Starting earlier, adding existing savings or lowering the cost target brings it down.
About the Grand Wedding Calculator
This calculator estimates the future cost of a wedding after inflation and the monthly SIP or lumpsum you would need to be ready on time. Savings you have already set aside are counted towards the goal.
How early should I start saving for a wedding?
The earlier the better. A longer period lets smaller monthly investments grow and avoids a large lump sum later.
Which return should I assume for a wedding fund?
Be cautious. If the wedding is only a few years away, a lower return suits safer investments, because equity can fall in the short term.
About the Dream Car Calculator
This calculator estimates what a car may cost in the future after price inflation and how much you would need to invest to afford it. Use the full price to buy in cash, or just the down payment if you plan to take a loan.
Should I save the full amount or take a car loan?
It depends on your cash flow and the loan interest rate. Many buyers pay a down payment from savings and finance the rest. You can use this calculator for the down payment amount.
What inflation should I use for car prices?
Car prices have tended to rise slowly, so a rate of around 4% to 6% a year is a common assumption. You can change it.
About the Dream Vacation Calculator
This calculator estimates what a trip could cost in the future after inflation and how much you would need to invest, as a lumpsum or a monthly SIP, to pay for it. Travel costs can change quickly, so revisit the numbers closer to the trip.
Which investments suit a short-term goal like a vacation?
For goals within a few years, people often prefer lower-risk options such as deposits or debt-oriented funds, because equity can fall in the short term. Use a cautious return here.
Should I include flights, stay and shopping?
Yes. Enter the total you expect to spend, including a cushion for exchange-rate moves and unplanned costs.
About the Dream Retirement Calculator
This calculator projects your expenses to the year you retire after inflation, works out the corpus needed to fund them until the age you expect to live to, and shows the monthly SIP needed to build it. It uses a higher return before retirement and a lower, safer return after retirement.
How much do I need to retire?
It depends on your expenses, inflation and how long retirement may last. This calculator estimates the corpus that could fund your inflation-adjusted expenses until the age you enter.
Why does the calculator use two returns?
Before retirement you can take more risk to grow the corpus, so the return can be higher. After retirement most people move to safer assets, so a lower return is more prudent.
About the Inflation Calculator
Inflation reduces the purchasing power of money over time. This calculator shows what something that costs a given amount today could cost in the future, and what a given amount of money today will be able to buy in today's terms after inflation.
What inflation rate should I use?
Long-term consumer inflation in India has typically fallen between about 4% and 7%, though it changes from year to year. Many planners use around 6% for long-term estimates.
Does inflation affect all expenses equally?
No. Education, healthcare and housing costs have often risen faster than the average, while some goods rise more slowly. You can run the calculator with different rates.
About the Life Insurance Need Calculator
This calculator adds up what your family would need if your income stopped, covering living costs for the support years, loans and future goals, and subtracts the savings and life cover you already have. It uses 6% inflation, a 7% return on the cover amount and 8% inflation on goal costs. For more detail, use our full life cover calculator.
How is the cover amount calculated?
We value your family's inflation-adjusted living costs for the support years, add loans, future goals and a six-month emergency fund, then subtract existing savings and life cover. The gap is the additional cover to consider.
Is this an insurance quote?
No. It is an approximate estimate. Premiums depend on your age, health, cover amount and the insurer. Speak to an advisor before you decide.
About the HLV Calculator
Human Life Value (HLV) is the present value of the income you are expected to earn, after your own expenses, until you retire. It treats your earning ability as an asset and shows what your family would lose if that income stopped. It is a quick method, but it ignores your loans, goals and savings.
How is Human Life Value calculated?
We take your annual income, remove your personal expenses, grow the rest each year at your expected income growth until retirement, and bring it back to today's value at the discount rate you enter.
HLV or needs-based method: which is better?
The needs-based method reflects your actual loans, goals and savings, so it is usually the main guide. HLV is a useful cross-check. Our Life Insurance Need Calculator shows both.
